Ingredients/Components

  • salt
  • water - 8 c
  • oil - 1/3 c
  • vinegar - 2 tsp
  • garlic powder - 2 tsp
  • chopped onions - 2 c
  • black beans - 2 c
  • cumin - 1 tsp
  • hot sauce to taste - 1 item

How to make black bean dip:

Pressure cook the beans and water for 1 hour. While the beans are cooking, saute the onions and oil in a small skillet. When the onions are soft and slightly browned, turn the flame to low and add the garlic powder and cumin. Stir a few minutes and remove from heat. When the beans are done, drain and save the liquid. Mash the beans and add onions, 3/4 cup bean broth, vinegar, salt and hot sauce. Mash well! Top with cheese, guacamole, sour cream, etc.
