Best ever lemon pie
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- cornstarch - 6 Tbsp
- cold water - 2 Tbsp
- boiling water - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 2 tsp
- egg whites - 3 item
- hot water - 2 c
- lemon juice - 1/3 c
- lemon extract
- beaten egg yolks - 3 item
How to make best ever lemon pie:
Meringue:1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch2 Tbsp. cold water1/2 c. boiling water6 Tbsp. sugar1 tsp. vanilla pinch of salt (1/8 tsp.)3 egg whites Filling: Mix together sugar, cornstarch, beaten egg yolks and lemon juice. Add gradually to hot water. Cook until thick (watch carefully). Add lemon extract, vinegar and butter. Stir well; pour into baked crust.Meringue: Mix cornstarch and cold water; add to boiling water. Cook until clear and cool well. (Note: You may want to start this and let cool while making the filling.) Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add sugar, vanilla and salt. Gradually add cornstarch mix. Beat again. Spread on filling and bake at 350° for 10 minutes or until golden brown.
