- dried whole oregano - 3/4 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- chopped onion - 1 c
- cloves garlic, minced - 2 item
- chili powder - 2 tsp
- 2 oz - 1/2 c
- chopped tomato - 1/2 c
- ground cumin - 1 tsp
- ground round - 1 lb
- can chopped green chiles - 1 oz
- vegetable cooking spray - 1 item
- 6-inch corn tortillas - 3 item
- can no-salt-added tomato sauce - 1 oz
- can dark red kidney beans, drained - 1 oz
- finely shredded iceberg lettuce - 1/2 c
- can no-salt-added whole tomatoes undrained, chopped - 1 1/2
- can no-salt-added beef broth undiluted - 1 3/4
- seeded and minced jalapeno pepper
How to make beef taco soup:
Cut tortillas into 1/2-inch-wide strips; cut strips in half crosswise. Place tortilla strips on an ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes, or until crisp. Set aside.
