Ingredients/Components
- round steak, cut into 1-inch cubes - 1 lb
- medium potatoes - 4 item
- carrots, cut into 1-inch chunks - 4 item
- to 2 stalks celery, cut into 1-inch chunks - 1 item
- medium onions, quartered and separated - 2 item
- V-8 juice - 1 qt
- envelope dry onion soup mix - 1 item
- barley uncooked - 2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper - 1 item
How to make beef stew:
Brown beef. Place in roaster with all other ingredients. Cover. Bake at 250° for 4 hours. Can also be placed in crock-pot on low for 8 hours. May also add corn, peas and green beans, if desired.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beef, Stew.
