Ingredients/Components
- cold water - 3 qt
- paprika - 2 tsp
- potatoes - 3 item
- stalks celery - 2 item
- peppercorns - 8 item
- onion - 1 item
- large carrots - 4 item
- parsley sprigs - 4 item
- cabbage leaves - 2 item
- fresh tomato - 1 item
- beef chuck - 1 lb
- marrow bones - 2 item
How to make beef soup:
Place meat and bones in a large pot with water. Let come to a boil. Skim. Prepare vegetables by washing, peeling and chopping. Add seasoning and vegetables, except potatoes, and simmer for about 2 1/2 hours. Add whole potatoes and simmer for another hour.When done, strain soup. Serve as consomme or with fine noodles. Serve meat with vegetables cooked in soup.
