Beef rouladen



  • mustard - 2 Tbsp
  • finely chopped onions - 1/4 c
  • slices bacon, cut in half - 3 item
  • thinly sliced round steak 1/4-inch thick
  • medium dill pickles, cut in quarters lengthwise - 3 item
  • , cut in quarters lengthwise optional - 6 medium

How to make beef rouladen:

Salt and pepper steak. Spread with mustard, sliced bacon, onion and dill pickle. Roll up and fasten with nails or toothpicks. Then brown in skillet. Put in roaster and cover with hot water. Bake at 350° for 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Thicken gravy with cornstarch.
