Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • cold water - 1 qt
  • celery, chopped
  • carrots, chopped - 1/2 c
  • boneless beef, all fat removed and cut into small cubes - 1 lb
  • leeks, chopped white part only - 1 c

How to make beef broth:

Place all ingredients in 3-quart pot and bring to a boil. Partly cover pan and simmer for 1 hour. Strain. Chill and remove fat.
