Ingredients/Components
- salt
- brown sugar - 1/2 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- garlic powder - 1 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
- catsup
- onion salt - 1 tsp
- wine vinegar - 1/4 c
- celery salt - 1 Tbsp
- ground pepper - 2 tsp
- liquid smoke - 2 Tbsp
- medium diced onion - 1 item
- brisket, trimmed - 5 6
- small jar baby food plums with tapioca - 1 item
How to make beef brisket:
Sauce:1/2 c. catsup1/4 c. wine vinegar1/2 c. brown sugar1 small jar baby food plums with tapioca1 medium diced onion2 Tbsp. lemon juice1/2 tsp. ground pepper First Day: Place brisket in a large roasting pan. Mix celery salt, garlic powder, onion salt, salt, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, liquid smoke and 1 teaspoon lemon juice. Pour over brisket. Cover and refrigerate overnight or 12 hours.Second Day: Remove brisket from refrigerator. Place in a 275° oven all day (4 to 5 pound brisket only 8 hours). The last 30 minutes, drain liquid, slice meat, return to pan and cover with barbecue sauce. Cover and bake 30 more minutes.
Sauce: Combine all ingredients in small saucepan. Stir and boil for 7 minutes.
