Ingredients/Components

  • salt - 1 tsp
  • garlic powder - 1/4 tsp
  • pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
  • ground beef - 2 lb
  • tomato sauce - 3 cans
  • large onion, diced - 1 item
  • macaroni - 1 lb
  • Cheddar cheese, grated - 1/2 lb
  • tomatoes - 1 qt
  • chili powder optional - 2 Tbsp
  • large bell pepper, diced - 2 item
  • cumin or oregano - 1 tsp

How to make beef and macaroni:

Brown hamburger; break up and drain. Saute onions and peppers until tender and add to meat. Add all spices and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well. Add tomato sauce and tomatoes; simmer about 30 minutes in a stainless steel pan, stirring often. Cook macaroni and drain. Mix macaroni with meat sauce. Pour into a 9 x 13-inch or larger casserole pan. Sprinkle cheese over top. Bake, uncovered, at 350° for 45 minutes. Serves 10 to 12 and reheats well.
