Ingredients/Components
- salt - 1 tsp
- water - 2 qt
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- clove garlic - 1 item
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- tomatoes - 1 can
- Great Northern beans - 1 lb
- black-eyed peas - 1 lb
- ham hock - 1 item
- green split peas - 1 lb
- kidney beans - 1 lb
- pinto beans - 1 lb
- navy beans - 1 lb
- baby lima beans - 1 lb
- large lima beans - 1 lb
- Soup:1 bag bean mix
How to make bean soup:
Mix all together and store 2 cups of mixture in individual Ziploc bags.Soup:1 bag bean mix2 qt. water1 ham hock1 tsp. salt1/4 tsp. pepper1 large onion, chopped1 can (16 oz.) tomatoes1 clove garlic Wash beans and put in large container covered with water and soak overnight. Drain. Add water and next three ingredients. Cover and bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes. Remove ham hock from soup and cut meat from bone; return meat to soup. Makes 2 1/2 quarts.Recipe categories: For large groups, Soups & stews, Beans.
