Bean salad
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 2 tsp
- oil - 1 c
- vinegar - 1 c
- black pepper - 1 tsp
- celery seed - 1 tsp
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- stalks celery, chopped - 2 item
- ground mustard - 1 tsp
- small jar pimentos, drained - 1 item
- 2 can kidney beans
- 2 can wax beans
- 2 can green peas
- 2 can cut green beans
- green and red pepper, chopped - 1/2 c
How to make bean salad:
Drain beans well. Drain peas well. Combine. Add onions, peppers and pimentos and celery. Mix together remaining ingredients and heat over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Cool, and pour over vegetables. Toss and let stand covered in refrigerator for 3 hours before serving. It keeps well.Recipe categories: Salads, Beans, Chickpeas/garbanzos.
