Bean casserole
Ingredients/Components
- brown sugar - 1/4 c
- clove garlic, minced - 1 item
- catsup - 1/2 c
- prepared mustard - 1/2 Tbsp
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- red wine - 1/4 c
- large onion, chopped - 1 item
- cumin - 1 tsp
- lean ground beef or chicken - 1 lb
- drained cooked or canned beans - 2 c
How to make bean casserole:
Mix all ingredients, except meat, onions and seasonings together lightly; put in a 2 1/2-quart casserole and set aside. In a large skillet, brown meat, onion and seasonings. Add skillet mixture to beans in casserole; mix. Cover and bake at 325° for 3 or 4 hours, or put in a slow cooker on low for 4 to 6 hours. Serves 6.
