Ingredients/Components
- small head red cabbage, washed and coarsely sliced - 1 item
- medium onion, sliced - 1 item
- tart apples, cored and quartered - 3 item
- salt - 2 tsp
- hot water - 1 c
- sugar
- vinegar - 1/2 c
- bacon grease or butter - 3 Tbsp
How to make bavarian red cabbage:
Place all ingredients in crock-pot in order listed. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours (high for 3 hours). Stir well before serving. Excellent served with a rich meat.Recipe categories: Fruit, Apple, Side dish.
