Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 Tbsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- egg, slightly beaten - 1 item
- water - 3/4 c
- unsifted flour - 3/4 c
- Planters peanut oil - 1 item
- uncooked shrimp large - 2 lb
How to make batter-fried shrimp:
Peel and devein shrimp, leaving tails on. Split shrimp part way through, butterfly fashion. Combine flour, water, egg, sugar and salt to make a batter. Dip shrimp into batter and fry in deep, hot peanut oil. Fry until golden brown and drain on paper towels. Makes 5 to 6 servings.Recipe categories: Lunch/snacks, Appetizers, Shrimp.
