Barbecued spareribs
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- cider vinegar
- lemon juice - 1 Tbsp
- light brown sugar, packed - 1/2 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/4 c
- chopped onion - 2 Tbsp
- catsup - 1/2 c
- chili sauce - 1/4 c
- dash of cayenne - 1 item
- clove garlic, crushed - 1 item
- onion, peeled and quartered - 1 item
- spareribs, cracked in half lengthwise - 4 lb
How to make barbecued spareribs:
Barbecue Sauce:1/2 c. cider vinegar1/2 c. light brown sugar, packed1/2 c. catsup1/4 c. chili sauce1/4 c. Worcestershire sauce2 Tbsp. chopped onion1 Tbsp. lemon juice1/2 tsp. dry mustard1 clove garlic, crushed dash of cayenne In large kettle, place ribs, onion, salt, pepper and 3 quarts water. Bring to boiling. Reduce heat and simmer covered 1 1/2 hours or until very tender. Drain. Meanwhile, make barbecue sauce.In medium saucepan, combine all ingredients for sauce. Simmer, uncovered, 1 hour, stirring occasionally. Arrange spareribs on rack in broiler pan. Brush with sauce. Broil 5-inches from heat, basting frequently with sauce, 10 minutes on each side.
