  • salt - 1 tsp
  • molasses - 1/4 c
  • brown sugar, firmly packed - 1/4 c
  • ground ginger - 1/2 tsp
  • paprika - 3 Tbsp
  • garlic powder - 1 tsp
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • soy sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • small onion, chopped - 1 item
  • celery seed - 1/2 tsp
  • onion powder - 3/4 tsp
  • beer - 1 c
  • hot pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • country style ribs - 5 lb
  • dried leaf thyme - 1 tsp
  • drops liquid red pepper seasoning - 3 item
  • Mix in a small bowl

How to make barbecued ribs:

Prepare spice rub ingredients. Mix in a small bowl.Barbecue Sauce:1 can tomato paste1 c. beer1/4 c. molasses1/4 c. brown sugar, firmly packed2 Tbsp. soy sauce2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce1/2 tsp. ground ginger3 drops liquid red pepper seasoning1 small onion, chopped Preheat oven to 325°. Rub ribs with spice mixture; place ribs in single layer rack in broiler or roasting pan. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 60 minutes or until done.

Meanwhile, prepare sauce. Stir together tomato paste, beer, molasses, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire, ginger, red pepper and onion in medium saucepan. Cook sauce, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until thickened about 15 minutes. Divide sauce in half (1 cup for basting sauce, 1 cup for an accompaniment). Coat both sides of ribs with half barbecue sauce. Return to oven 15 minutes. Baste bone side of meat with remaining sauce.
