Barbecued pot roast
Ingredients/Components
- butter or margarine - 2 Tbsp
- salt - 2 tsp
- brown sugar - 2 Tbsp
- water - 1/2 c
- vinegar - 1/4 c
- lemon juice - 1/4 c
- dry mustard - 1/2 tsp
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- Worcestershire sauce - 1 Tbsp
- catsup - 1/4 c
- tomato juice - 1 c
- medium onions, chopped - 3 item
- cloves garlic, sliced - 3 item
- beef pot roast - 4 5
How to make barbecued pot roast:
Rub the surface of the roast with salt and pepper. Brown in butter or margarine on all sides. Add the water, tomato juice, chopped onions and sliced garlic. Simmer for 1 1/2 hours. Mix the remaining ingredients. Add to the meat and simmer for 2 hours.The gravy may be strained before serving, but it is very good just the way it is. Serves 8 to 10.
