  • brown sugar - 1/2 c
  • water - 1/2 c
  • honey - 1/3 c
  • Worcestershire sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • red wine vinegar - 1/2 c
  • sage - 1 tsp
  • tomato sauce - 1/2 pt
  • medium onion, chopped - 1 item
  • tomato ketchup
  • poultry seasoning - 1 tsp
  • Kitchen Bouquet - 1 Tbsp
  • medium green bell pepper, chopped - 1 item
  • Texas Pete - 1 tsp
  • pieces - 1 chicken,

How to make barbecued chicken:

Sauce:1 lb. tomato ketchup1/2 pt. tomato sauce2 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce1/2 c. red wine vinegar1 medium onion, chopped1 medium green bell pepper, chopped1/3 c. honey1/2 c. brown sugar1/2 c. water1 tsp. poultry seasoning1 tsp. sage1 tsp. salt1 tsp. Texas Pete1 Tbsp. Kitchen Bouquet Dip chicken in buttermilk and egg mixture. Coat with seasoned flour. Fry in oil until brown. Place chicken in deep baking dish, skin side up. Drain excess oil.

Sauce: Mix all the ingredients well and bring to a boil. Pour over chicken and bake at 325° for 1 hour. Baste occasionally.
