Barbecued beef sandwiches
Ingredients/Components
- water - 2 c
- Worcestershire sauce - 1/3 c
- prepared horseradish - 1 Tbsp
- ketchup - 1/2 c
- prepared mustard - 1 Tbsp
- shredded cabbage - 4 c
- beef stew meat - 2 lb
- bottled barbecue sauce - 1/2 c
- hamburger or other sandwich buns, split - 10 item
How to make barbecued beef sandwiches:
In a covered Dutch oven or saucepan, simmer beef in water for 1 1/2 hours or until tender. Drain cooking liquid, reserving 3/4 cup. Cool beef; shred and return to Dutch oven. Add cabbage, barbecue sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, horseradish, mustard and the reserved cooking liquid. Cover and simmer for 1 hour. Serve warm in buns. Yields 10 servings.Note: This recipe is delicious, but if you like barbecue sauce, add another 1/2 cup.
