Barbecue tofu
Ingredients/Components
- salt - 2 tsp
- oil - 1 c
- peanut butter - 3 Tbsp
- honey - 1 c
- paprika - 1 Tbsp
- tomato sauce
- cayenne - 1/4 tsp
- cloves minced garlic - 2 item
- previously frozen tofu - 2 lb
- Press out water and cut into 1 x 3-inch strips
- blackstrap molasses - 2 Tbsp
- spike - 2 Tbsp
How to make barbecue tofu:
Thaw tofu. Press out water and cut into 1 x 3-inch strips. Whip remaining ingredients until smooth. Pour over tofu and squeeze in as evenly as possible. Marinate 30 minutes. While marinating, prepare sauce.Barbecue Sauce:2 medium onions1/3 c. oil2 cloves minced garlic2 1/2 c. tomato sauce1 c. honey2 Tbsp. blackstrap molasses1 1/2 tsp. salt2 Tbsp. spike3/4 tsp. cayenne Saut onions in oil and garlic. Add remaining ingredients to onions and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for about 30 minutes. Lay tofu out on oiled cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Turn over and bake 20 minutes. Pour sauce over all pieces and bake 15 more minutes.Recipe categories: Main dish, Beans, Soy/tofu.
