Banbury tarts
Ingredients/Components
- Chopped Raisins - 1/2 c
- Sugar - 1/2 c
- Cracker Crumbs
- Egg Yolk - 1 item
- Butter, softened - 1 Tbsp
- Dash of Salt - 1 item
- Lemon Juice - 1 Tbsp
- Lemon Rind - 1 Tbsp
- Chopped Walnuts - 2 Tbsp
How to make banbury tarts:
Blend two tablespoons butter with 3/4 cups sugar. Add the juice of one lemon, some grated rind, 2 well beaten egg yolks and one cup of milk. Stir in 2 well rounded tablespoons flour. Last fold in two stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350° for nearly an hour. Serve cold with whipped cream. Serves 6, when baked in a pyrex pie dish.Recipe categories: Desserts, < 30 mins, Oven.
