Banana split dessert
Ingredients/Components
- butter, softened - 3/4 c
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- vanilla wafer crumbs - 2 c
- can crushed pineapple - 1 oz
- sifted powdered sugar - 2 c
- bananas, sliced - 4 item
- melted butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- carton Cool Whip - 1 oz
- coarsely chopped pecans or walnuts - 1/2 c
- jar maraschino cherries or strawberries - 1 oz
How to make banana split dessert:
Combine 1/2 cup butter and cookie crumbs and pat into bottom of a 9 x 13-inch pan. Beat eggs on high speed for about 4 minutes. Add powdered sugar, 3/4 cup butter and vanilla. Beat 5 minutes. Spread over crumbs. Chill 30 minutes. Drain pineapple and spread over creamed mixture. Arrange bananas over pineapple. Spread Cool Whip over pineapple. Sprinkle with pecans and garnish with cherries. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Better yet when made 2 days ahead. Serves 12.Recipe categories: Pie, Pies and tarts, Cakes.
