  • nuts, chopped - 1/2 c
  • yellow cake mix - 1 item
  • large container Cool Whip - 1 item
  • small jar maraschino cherries - 1 item
  • bananas - 2 item
  • large can crushed pineapple - 1 item
  • vanilla pudding not instant mix - 1 pkg

How to make banana split cake:

Bake cake as package directs. Cool. Poke holes all over cake. Cook pineapple and sugar to boil, then simmer 20 minutes. Pour over cake. Cool. Prepare pudding as package directs; add cream cheese and whip together until light. Spread over cake. Layer sliced bananas over cake, then spread Cool Whip. Sprinkle with nuts and dot with cherries. Cuts better if stored overnight.
