Banana pudding
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/8 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 2 item
- butter or oleo - 1 Tbsp
- bananas - 3 item
- vanilla wafers - 1 item
How to make banana pudding:
Mix sugar, flour and salt in heavy saucepan. Add milk and butter (oleo). Cook on medium heat, stirring often.Meanwhile, beat egg yolks slightly. When milk mixture begins to thicken, add 1/2 cup to beaten egg yolks, mix thoroughly and add to hot mixture. Cook for a few minutes. The consistency should be thinner than pie filling. Add vanilla and set aside.
Layer vanilla wafers with bananas in a large baking dish, making two layers of each. Pour filling over. Top with meringue.
