Banana pudding
Ingredients/Components
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- egg yolks, beaten - 2 item
- cup flour - 1/3 item
- cups milk - 2 item
- chopped nuts, optional - 1 item
- cup packed brown sugar - 2/3 item
- cup heavy cream - 1 item
- 4-6 firm bananas, sliced
How to make banana pudding:
In saucepan, combine flour and sugar; stir in milk. Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly. Cook 1 minute more. Remove from heat. Gradually stir about 1 cup mixture into egg yolks. Return all to saucepan. Bring to a gentle boil; cook and stir 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in butter and vanilla. Cool to room temperature stirring occasionally. Fold in whipped cream. Layer 1/3 of pudding in 2-qt. bowl. Top with half of the bananas. Repeat layers topping with pudding. Sprinkle with nuts.
