Ingredients/Components
- shortening - 1 c
- stick margarine - 1 item
- sugar - 3 c
- eggs - 5 item
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- plain flour, sifted - 3 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- mashed bananas - 3 item
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- chopped pecans - 3/4 c
- Add sugar
- box powdered sugar - 1 item
- milk enough for consistency - 1 item
How to make banana pound cake:
Cream shortening and margarine. Add sugar. Cream well. Add eggs 1 at a time. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture with mashed bananas, milk, vanilla and nuts. Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 1 1/4 hours or until done in a greased and floured tube pan.Icing:1 stick margarine1 box powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla milk (enough for consistency) Beat in large mixing bowl until smooth.
