  • sugar
  • eggs - 2 item
  • vanilla - 1 tsp
  • chopped pecans - 1/2 c
  • milk - 2 Tbsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 2 c
  • soda - 3/4 tsp
  • buttermilk - 1/2 c
  • baking powder
  • shortening - 1 c
  • powdered sugar
  • mashed banana - 1 c
  • Add beaten eggs

How to make banana nut cake:

Beat sugar and shortening together until creamy. Add beaten eggs. Mix baking powder, soda, salt and flour together. Add these alternately with buttermilk and bananas into sugar mixture. Add vanilla and pecans. Grease and flour a 9 x 13-inch pan. Bake 30 minutes at 325°.Cream Cheese Frosting:1 (8 oz.) cream cheese1 1/2 c. powdered sugar1 tsp. vanilla2 Tbsp. milk Beat together and spread on cake. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
