Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- egg yolks - 2 item
- coconut - 1 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 4 Tbsp
- nuts - 2/3 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- pecans - 1/2 c
- margarine 1 stick - 1/4 lb
- medium, mashed bananas - 3 item
- Add beaten eggs
How to make banana nut cake:
Cream Crisco and sugar. Add beaten eggs. Stir in mashed bananas. Combine flour, salt and soda; stir in. Mix well. Add buttermilk and vanilla. Stir in nuts.Icing:1 c. evaporated milk1 c. sugar2 egg yolks1/4 lb. margarine (1 stick)1 tsp. vanilla1 c. coconut1/2 c. pecans Combine all ingredients except coconut and pecans in saucepan. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture thickens (about 12 minutes). Add coconut and pecans, chopped. Beat until cool and thick. Pour over cake.Recipe categories: Desserts, Cakes, Egg.
