- eggs - 2 item
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- flour - 3 c
- brown sugar - 1 c
- coconut - 1 c
- soda
- buttermilk - 8 10
- pinch of salt - 1 item
- shortening - 1/2 c
- nuts - 1 c
- bananas, mashed - 3 item
- Icing:1 stick margarine
How to make banana nut cake:
Icing:1 stick margarine1 c. brown sugar3 Tbsp. milk1 c. coconut1 c. nuts Mix ingredients in order given. Add soda to buttermilk. Bake in loaf pan at 350° for 1 hour. For holidays, add 1 cup mixed candied fruit.Icing: Boil coconut for 1 minute. Mix all icing ingredients together; spread on cake while filling is hot.
