Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- shortening - 1/2 c
- large eggs - 2 item
- large bananas, mashed - 3 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- soda - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 1/4 tsp
- flour, sifted* - 3 c
- finely chopped nuts - 1/2 c
How to make banana nut bread:
*May use self-rising flour and omit salt, soda and baking powder.Cream together sugar and shortening in bowl. Stir in eggs and bananas. Add the salt, soda and baking powder to flour, then stir into the banana mixture. Fold in the nuts. Pour into 3 greased coffee cans*. Bake at 325° for about 1 hour.
*I use Bundt or tube pan and bake for 40 minutes.
