Banana-nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 4 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- soda - 1 tsp
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- shortening - 2/3 c
- sifted all-purpose flour
- chopped walnuts or pecans - 1 c
- ripe mashed bananas - 2 c
How to make banana-nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar together; add eggs and beat well. Sift together dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture, alternately with bananas, blending well after each addition. Stir in nuts. Pour into well-greased 9 1/2 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in 350° oven for 40 to 45 minutes or until done. Remove from pan; cool on rack.
