Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- beaten eggs - 3 item
- bananas, mashed - 3 item
- sour milk or 1/2 tsp - 1 Tbsp
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar until fluffy, about 2 minutes on medium speed with electric beater. Add beaten eggs, then bananas, lemon juice and sour milk. Beat until lemon in color. Sift together flour, baking powder, salt and add to banana mixture. Fold in nuts and bake in greased loaf pan for 1 hour in 350° oven.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Yeast breads.
