Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2/3 c
- soft shortening - 1/3 c
- eggs - 2 item
- sour milk - 3 Tbsp
- mashed bananas - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Mix together thoroughly sugar, shortening and eggs. Stir in sour milk and mashed bananas. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and soda. Blend in chopped nuts. Pour into a well greased 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Let stand 20 minutes before baking. Bake until it tests done, usually 50 to 60 minutes in 350° oven.Recipe categories: Breads, Fruit, Yeast breads.
