- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- baking powder - 3 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- all-purpose flour - 2 c
- pecans - 1 c
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Cream shortening and sugar together. Beat eggs until light and add to sugar. Blend mashed bananas and lemon juice to creamed mixture. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add to creamed mixture. Add nuts. Bake in greased loaf pan (9 x 5-inches) in moderate oven (325°) for about one hour. This recipe may be doubled.
