Ingredients/Components
- flour - 2 c
- baking powder - 2 tsp
- baking soda - 1/2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- margarine - 1/4 c
- sugar - 1/2 c
- eggs - 2 item
- ripe bananas, mashed - 2 item
- sour or buttermilk - 1/2 c
- chopped nuts - 3/4 c
How to make banana nut bread:
Hint: Put 1 teaspoon vinegar in regular milk to make sour.Cream margarine and sugar. Add bananas, eggs, milk and nuts. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Blend wet and dry ingredients. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake at 350° for 1 hour.
Easy recipe to double. Hint: If you have overly ripe bananas and aren't ready to use them, peel and freeze them in a container for later use.
