Banana nut bread
Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1 c
- eggs - 2 item
- salt - 1 tsp
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- chopped walnuts - 1 c
- sifted flour - 2 c
- Crisco - 1/2 c
- mashed ripe bananas about 3 - 1 c
- cider vinegar plus milk to make 1/2 c - 1 Tbsp
How to make banana nut bread:
Sift together flour, soda and salt. Cream crisco, and blend in sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating until fluffy. Add flour, bananas, and liquid (1/2 of quantity at a time, beating well between each addition). Add chopped nuts and stir well.Spray 2 loaf pans with Baker's Joy. Turn batter into greased loaf pans and bake about 1 hour at 350 degrees. Loaf will come away from pan sides and toothpick comes out clean when done. Remove from pans and cool on rack for several hours. Can be frozen in plastic bags or aluminum foil.
