Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 1/2 c
- vanilla - 2 tsp
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- cornstarch - 3 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- cream of tartar - 1/4 tsp
- melted butter or margarine - 1/4 c
- milk scald 150~ - 2 c
- Slowly add sugar which has been mixed with cornstarch and salt
- Microwave for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes
How to make banana cream pie:
Beat egg yolks. Slowly add sugar which has been mixed with cornstarch and salt. Beat until thick. Scald milk until scum forms. Slowly add scalded milk, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Cook in bowl or 1-quart measuring cup until thick and bubbly (HiRecipe categories: Desserts, Pie, Pies and tarts.
