Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- salt - 3/4 tsp
- flour - 2 c
- soda - 1 tsp
- buttermilk - 1 c
- baking powder - 1 tsp
- shortening - 1/2 c
- nuts - 1/2 c
- powdered sugar - 3 c
- egg yolk - 1 item
- orange juice - 1/4 c
- lemon extract - 2 tsp
- unbeaten eggs - 2 item
- ripe, mashed bananas - 1 c
- Add remaining ingredients and beat 1 minute
- a little orange rind - 1 item
How to make banana cream cake:
Combine first 8 ingredients together and stir for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and beat 1 minute. Pour in two 8 or 9-inch cake pans and bake for 30 minutes at 350°.Icing:3 Tbsp. butter1 egg yolk1/4 c. orange juice2 tsp. lemon extract a little orange rind3 c. powdered sugar Combine all ingredients and mix well.
