Ingredients/Components
- sugar
- eggs - 2 item
- vanilla - 1 tsp
- milk - 3 Tbsp
- butter or margarine - 1/2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- chopped nuts - 1/2 c
- nutmeg - 1/2 tsp
- buttermilk - 1/2 c
- baking powder
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- all-purpose flour
- cream cheese, softened - 1 pkg
- mashed ripe bananas - 1 c
- stick butter, soft - 1/2 item
- Stir in bananas and vanilla
How to make banana cake:
Cream together sugar, butter and nutmeg until fluffy; add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in bananas and vanilla. Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Beat in cream mixture alternately with buttermilk. Stir in nuts. Spread batter in a greased 13 x 9-inch pan. Bake in a 350° oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean. Cool on rack. Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting.Cream Cheese Frosting:4 c. powdered sugar3 Tbsp. milk1 pkg. cream cheese, softened1/2 stick butter, soft1 tsp. vanilla Combine all ingredients and beat until smooth.
