Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 c
- cinnamon - 2 tsp
- water
- melted butter - 1 lb
- lemon juice - 1 tsp
- honey - 1/4 c
- crushed walnuts
- fillo dough - 1 lb
How to make baklava:
Syrup:1 c. water2 c. sugar1 tsp. lemon juice1/4 c. honey Filling:4 c. crushed walnuts1 c. sugar2 tsp. cinnamon Grease a 12 x 15-inch pan. Using 1/2 of dough, layer in pan piece by piece; brush each piece with melted butter.Spread filling across dough evenly. Continue with remaining layers of dough. Cut into squares or diamonds. Bake at 375° for 15 minutes. Prepare syrup and cook 15 minutes. Pour over baklava while hot.
