Ingredients/Components
- half and half - 1 c
- salt - 1/4 tsp
- butter or margarine, melted - 1/4 c
- pepper - 1/4 tsp
- 4 oz - 1 c
- can cream of mushroom soup undiluted - 1 3/4
- 3/4-inch thick slices French bread - 8 item
- large sweet onions - 4 lb
How to make baked sweet onions:
Slice onions; cut each slice in half. Saute onions in 1/4 cup butter in a Dutch oven until crisp-tender. Spoon into a lightly greased 12 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Combine soup, half and half, salt and pepper; pour mixture over onions. Sprinkle cheeseRecipe categories: Eggs/dairy, Side dish, Cheese.
