Ingredients/Components
- sugar - 2 Tbsp
- milk - 1/2 c
- margarine - 2 Tbsp
- egg, beaten - 1 item
- diced onion - 2 3
- salt and pepper to taste - 1 item
- shredded Cheddar or American cheese - 2/3 c
- to 3 squash, sliced - 2 item
How to make baked squash:
Cook squash in salt water, drain. Combine all other ingredients, add cooked squash to this mixture. Place in greased 1 1/2-quart casserole dish. Top with cracker or bread crumbs, if you wish. Bake at 350° for 30 to 40 minutes.Variations: Use mushroom soup as base, decrease milk to 1/4 cup. Add diced tomatoes, celery or corn.
