Baked macaroni and cheese
Ingredients/Components
- flour - 1/2 c
- water - 3 qt
- margarine - 1/2 c
- bread crumbs - 3/4 c
- shredded Cheddar cheese
- elbow macaroni - 1 lb
- whole milk - 2 qt
How to make baked macaroni and cheese:
Prepare macaroni; drain and rinse. Heat milk in double boiler to 180°. Melt margarine. Add flour to make a roux. Add to milk, stirring until dissolved. Milk should begin to thicken. Add cheese; stir until melted entirely. Combine elbows and cheese sauce in baking pan. Mix margarine with bread crumbs; sprinkle over macaroni.
