Baked creamed cabbage
Ingredients/Components
- milk
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 3 Tbsp
- butter - 3 Tbsp
- bread crumbs - 1/4 c
- medium head cabbage - 1 item
- boiling salted water - 1/2 c
How to make baked creamed cabbage:
Shred cabbage very fine and cook 9 minutes in boiling salted water. Drain cabbage well and place in buttered casserole dish. Melt butter in saucepan; stir in flour and salt until smooth. Add milk gradually. Continue stirring until mixture thickens. Pour this sauce over cabbage and sprinkle bread crumbs over top. Bake at 325° for 15 minutes or until crumbs brown.Recipe categories: Low protein, Side dish, Vegetables.
