Ingredients/Components
- can tomato sauce - 1 oz
- Italian seasoning - 1 tsp
- shredded Mozzarella cheese - 2 c
- cloves garlic - 2 item
- chopped green onions - 3/4 c
- black pepper - 1/4 tsp
- corkscrew pasta, cooked and drained
- spaghetti sauce with mushrooms - 1 (14
- Italian sausage links, sliced 1/2 inch - 12 oz
How to make baked cavatelli:
Prepare pasta according to directions. In large skillet cook sausage until no pink remains. Remove from skillet, reserving 1 tablespoon fat. Cook green onions and garlic in drippings. In 2-quart casserole combine pasta, sausage, onion mixture, tomato sauce, spaghetti sauce, 1/2 of cheese, Italian seasoning and pepper. Toss to combine. Bake covered in 375° oven for 25 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle remaining cheese on top. Bake additional 10 minutes. Makes 6 servings.Recipe categories: Main dish, Casseroles, Pork sausage.
