Ingredients/Components

  • milk
  • salt - 1 item
  • flour - 4 Tbsp
  • butter
  • chopped onions - 1 c
  • chopped green onions
  • cayenne pepper - 1 item
  • chopped bell pepper - 1 c
  • large head cabbage - 1 item
  • Cheez Whiz - 16 oz
  • bread crumbs seasoned - 1/4 c

How to make baked cajun cabbage:

Topping:1 c. chopped green onions1/4 c. bread crumbs (seasoned) Cheese Sauce:1/2 c. butter4 Tbsp. flour1 1/2 c. milk cayenne pepper salt16 oz. Cheez Whiz Remove outer leaves of cabbage. Cut into bite size sections, removing heart. Boil for 10 minutes, uncovered, until tender and crisp. Drain and set aside.

Cheese Sauce: In separate saucepan, combine butter and flour, blending well over medium heat. Add onions, cayenne pepper, salt and pepper. Saute for 10 minutes. Add milk, blending well over low heat until creamy. Add cheese; stir until smooth.

Place cabbage in 2 quart casserole dish. Top with cheese sauce. Sprinkle with green onions and bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.
