Ingredients/Components

  • pkg - 1 oz
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • hot water - 1/4 c
  • dash of pepper - 1 item
  • medium onion, minced - 1 item
  • buttered bread crumbs - 1/2 c
  • slices bacon, diced - 4 item
  • minced green pepper - 2 Tbsp
  • small mushrooms 50 - 1 lb

How to make bacon stuffed mushrooms:

Butter a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking dish. Set aside. Wash and dry mushrooms. Remove stems, chop and reserve for stuffing. Saute diced bacon, onion, green pepper, chopped mushroom stems, salt and pepper. Remove from heat when cooked through, not browned.

Combine cream cheese with bacon mixture. Press firmly into the mushroom caps, mounding slightly. Lightly press filling side of mushrooms into bread crumbs to coat. Place in dish, filling side up. Add 1/4 cup hot water. Bake, uncovered, 15 to 20 minutes at 375°.
