Asparagus supreme

- milk - 3/4 c
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- eggs, separated - 3 item
- salt and pepper - 1 item
- grated onion - 1 tsp
- grated American cheese
- canned asparagus
How to make asparagus supreme:
Make a sauce with butter, flour and milk. When thickened and smooth, remove from fire. Add chopped onion and cheese and stir until cheese is melted. Add beaten egg yolks and blend well. Carefully add the asparagus, cut in small pieces. Season to taste. Fold in beaten egg whites. Pour into a buttered casserole dish and bake in moderate oven (350°) for about 30 minutes or until center is slightly firm. Serves 6.Recipe categories: Side dish, Vegetables, Asparagus.
