Asparagus casserole
Ingredients/Components
- milk - 2 c
- salt - 1/2 tsp
- flour - 2 Tbsp
- butter - 2 Tbsp
- melted butter - 2 Tbsp
- dash of pepper - 1 item
- cracker crumbs - 1/4 c
- fresh asparagus - 2 lb
- hard-cooked eggs, sliced - 4 item
How to make asparagus casserole:
Snap off tough ends of asparagus and cut into 1 1/2 inch pieces. Cook 6 to 8 minutes, drain and set aside. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in flour and cook 1 minute. Gradually add milk, cooking over medium heat, stirring constantly until thickened. Add salt and pepper. Arrange half of asparagus in 8-inch square greased baking dish. Top with egg slices and half of white sauce. Repeat with rest of asparagus then white sauce. Combine cracker crumbs and 2 tablespoons butter and sprinkle over top.
