  • pkg - 8 oz
  • milk - 1 c
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 1/4 c
  • butter - 5 Tbsp
  • paprika - 1/4 tsp
  • chopped onion - 1 Tbsp
  • chopped celery - 2 Tbsp
  • bread crumbs - 2/3 c
  • can cream of mushroom soup - 1 item
  • hard-cooked eggs, chopped - 2 item
  • cans asparagus, drained - 2 item

How to make asparagus casserole:

Combine 4 tablespoons of oleo, salt, paprika and flour; blend until smooth. Add milk gradually; stir until thickened. Add soup and cheese. Stir until cheese has melted. Saute onion and celery in 1 tablespoon of oleo. Add to soup mixture and add eggs. Alternate layers of asparagus and sauce in 2-quart casserole. Top with bread crumbs. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes. Serves 8 to 10.
